"Brooke has tutored my rising 8th grader in writing and grammar virtually for the last 19 months. When Covid caused school to shift online, I discovered how much he struggled to write, particularly in light of his ADHD. "Having two severely dyslexic kids, this is so important!! I am grateful that we have Brooke Finley to give them strategies to help them read. People who have dyslexia work twice as hard as those who do not because they have to decode each and every word. The gift of reading is not something that should ever be taken for granted. I wanted to share this little story with you about this story [student] had to write this week: Write a fictional narrative with a main character who boldly attempts to over come a tremendous challenge. He wrote this with such ease. He got the assignment on Monday, blasted out all his ideas, typing them on the computer. Tuesday, we reviewed it & made it more clear & finessed it altogether. Wednesday, "dressed" it up, you'll notice all the "flares" we included in the description. It was a hop, skip & a jump for him, like he had been writing these kinds of things for YEARS!! ...

I couldn't think of any other reason, we weren't crying through this assignment other than because of you. Last night as we were "dressing it up" we were laughing, we were yelling, "Yessssss! That's perfect!" As we added in more details & had the most fun writing this short story. All because of you 🥲 ...Ms. Brooke .... thank you 🥹 thank you for the joy you've brought to our lives, your gift to teach, tutor & educate is beyond measure of what words could ever describe. I don't know how you do what you do, truly it is a gift.
