Babysitting 101

Service Description

Learn not only how to be a smart and safe babysitter, but also how to be the one that parents prefer and kids request. We will cover the basics of safety, appropriateness and professionalism as well as the business aspect of babysitting. I will use a combination of stories from parents and children explaining what they love about their favorite babysitters to instill a sense of responsibility and pride in being a great babysitter. We will discuss methods for dealing with stressful things, such as; crying babies, sibling conflicts, deciding on a rate, communication with the parents and handling emergencies. The emphasis of this 6 week class will be on stepping into the caregiver role in a kind, focused and professional manner. Students will have a couple of written assignments. I will email a printable Certificate of Completion at the end of the course.
