Join us for a literary journey inspired by hidden gems of children's literature. In this classic book club-style workshop, we will delve into three lesser-known books carefully selected for tweens. Throughout the program, students will explore these captivating tales by reading them between workshops and engaging in lively discussions during our live meetings. Our book list features titles that I consider to be true treasures, offering a unique and enriching reading experience. We will begin with an introductory session, where students will have the chance to meet their fellow book enthusiasts. No prior reading is required before this first meeting. As an optional resource, I will provide a printable book log to help students track their progress. In subsequent meetings, we will dive deep into the worlds of these books. We will analyze the characters, settings, and the profound messages they convey. Together, we will make predictions and follow the captivating outcomes of these tales. Additionally, we will explore the writing styles of the featured authors and gain insights into their creative processes. While students are encouraged to express their thoughts through writing if they feel inspired, there is no mandatory writing component in this class. The focus is on fostering meaningful discussions and nurturing a love for reading. If you're unable to find these titles at your local library, worry not! They are readily available in various formats on Amazon.com, ensuring easy access for all participants.
